    Active Ingredients per 20 drops (1ml): St Mary's Thistle Seed (Silybum marianum). Standardised to contains 25mg/ml of silymarin. All herbs are premium quality and tested for purity.

    Inactive ingredients: Vegetable Glycerine, Natural Bacon Flavouring (Vegan, Vegetarian derived, Contains no protein). May contain trace amounts of alcohol (about as much as a ripe banana per dose!).

    DOSAGE (SHAKE WELL BEFORE USE): Dose twice daily. Give one drop for every 1kg (2lb) of body weight up to 25kg (50lb), add one drop per additional 2kg (4lb). Does not need refrigeration. Contains calibrated dropper: 0.5ml = 10 drops.

    St Mary's Thistle

    St Mary's Thistle (Silybum marianum), also known as Milk Thistle, is one of the most widely researched herbs used to support liver health in both people and animals.

    Is the Liver Support safe for my dog even if they are on medication?

    Yes! Safety is of the upmost importance to us at Natural Pet Supplements. The herbs chosen are specifically chosen because of safety and effectiveness in animals. Caution use with blood thinning or anti-convulsant medications. Do not administer prior to anaesthesia. Do not use with gall bladder inflammation. Caution use in diabetic animals.

    Do not exceed the recommended dosage unless advised by a veterinarian or qualified animal herbalist. As a precaution, all herbal supplements should be discontinued at least two weeks prior to surgery.     How long until I see a change in my dog or cats condition?

    That depends. Every pet is different, and there are many factors that can influence how quickly you see results, including the severity of their condition, age, diet, stress levels, immune status, breed, and overall health.

    It may take up to 8 weeks to see changes in bloodwork. But often owners notice improvements before that time.

    Herbal medicine is not a quick fix, and patience is often required. While some pets show positive changes within a few weeks, others may take longer. If you haven't noticed any improvements after 12 weeks, please contact us. We may be able to adjust the formula to better suit your pet's individual needs or recommend a dosage review.

    What if my dog or cat doesn't like the taste?

    Our herbal formulas are naturally flavoured with a smoky bacon taste to make them more appealing to pets. Most of our liquid herbal blends are made in a vegetable glycerine base, which provides a naturally sweet taste that many pets enjoy. However, some herbs do have a distinctive aroma and flavour that sensitive dogs and cats may still notice.

    For particularly fussy pets, the formula can be mixed into a small amount of a favourite food such as sardines, tuna, parmesan cheese, or another highly palatable treat to encourage acceptance.

    As with any new supplement, patience and consistency are important. If your dog or cat is hesitant, you can gradually introduce the formula and slowly increase to the full recommended dosage over 5–7 days. This gentle approach often helps pets adjust to the taste while ensuring they receive the full benefits of the formula over time.
