Herbs in each Gravy Selection
Stress & Anxiety Support
Valerian (Valeriana Officinalis): This herb has been used for centuries to lower stress and reduce anxiety. It has a calming effect, if used in large quantities it can promote sleep (not high enough amount in the gravy to do this).
Passionflower: (Passiflora incarnata): Passionflower increases GABA levels in the brain which help to regulate mood. It is a very calming herb and traditionally is combined with Valerian. They work in synergy to promote relaxation and a lowering of stress, anxiety and related behaviours.
Baical Skulcap (Scutellaria baicalensis): This herb is an anti-allergy herb, it modulates the immune response to allergens and intollerances. This may reduce the severity of reactions, along with symptoms like itching and redness.
Turmeric (Curcuma longa): Turmeric blocks more pain pathways than any other known herb. It is very powerful anti-inflammatory for the skin.
Calendula (Celendula officinalis): This herb speeds up the healing process, skin that is itchy and irritated will need help to heal as the skin is the slowest healing organ.
Burdock (Arcticum lappa): Burdock is a detoxing and cleansing liver herb. Skin disorders are frequently connected to a congested liver.
Gotu Kola (Centella asiatica): Helps to heal by speeding up connective tissue and skin repair, it also prevents hair loss.
Mashmallow (Althaea officinalis): Helps to restore the gut lining and mucous membranes, soothes irritation and inflammation
Turmeric (Curcuma longa): Reduces systemic inflammation of the gut and increases bile production to aid in digestion. Calms smooth muscles in the digestive tract to help push through food without causing gas and indigestion.
Chickweed (Stellaria media): Has a soothing and cooling effect on the gut as well as helping constipation
Mint (Menta piperita): Mint lowers indigestion and gas, it has a cooling effect on the gastro-intestinal tract
Ginger (Zingiber officinale): Ginger helps relieve nausea and stomach upset.
Turmeric (Curcuma longa): Has been used for arthritis for centuries. Is a potent anti-inflammatory for the joints.
Devils Claw (Harpagophytum procumbens): Devils claw is a powerful analgesic which helps to lessen pain in the joints and muscles.
Gotu Kola (Centella asiatica): Helps to reduce swelling and improve circulation. Helps with regeneration of tissue and reduces scarring. May reduce bone and cartilage degeneration
Ginger (Zingiber officinale): Ginger is a circulatory stimulant, it will help deliver all the herbs above to the joint sites.
Glucosamine & MSM: Glucosamine is what the body uses to make cartilage, it also stimulates the production of cartilage. MSM has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Combined they may help reduce pain and lameness
